A Timeless Design For A Great Tea Kettle, I Love It So Much
This is my third Le Creuset Enamel tea kettle. I would say it is about a medium-sized capacity; it holds enough water to fill 5 8-ounce cups of water. It is not one that will maintain heat for long periods and is not for the "heavy handed." In other words, this kettle will not take a lot of abuse. It is enamel and can chip. If you are going to purchase this item, here are some important things to keep in mind. First, don't allow the water to boil out of the kettle. The kettle will overheat and and melt the emblem. Second, avoid storing water in the kettle for long periods. Rust will form in the holes that are just below the spout (on the inside of the kettle). After using, the kettle, allow it to cool. Then, pour out any remaining water and dry it. If I'm short on time, I will remove the lid and let it air dry. However, I don't do this often. It is best to thoroughly dry it. Sadly, I've done all of these things, yet I still like this little tea kettle. If you carefully follow these tips, your tea kettle will last longer than mine :-).

Great!
When you get this take the time to read the 4 sentence use and care description that comes with this. I was hesitant to buy this because of the negative reviews but if you just read how to properly care for this all of those things can be avoided. If you wait 5-10 seconds to let the water cool before pouring, it does not splatter, it only splatters if you pour immediately (in the care description too). With the reviews that mention melting or chipping they likely set their gas stove on too high, so make sure it's an appropriate flame. Just care for this properly and it's a great product that I imagine should last a lifetime!

Good Looking Kettle With a Design Flaw
Like all Le Creuset enameled products, the quality of the enamel is amazing. However, this kettle has two design flaws:
1. The Crome rings, around the lid opening and the spout, expand and contract at a different rate to the metal body of the kettle. Therefore, they become loose after a short period of time. While this doesn't stop the kettle from working, you do end up with small metal flake rubbing off under the rings, then making it out down the sides of the kettle.
2. The spout's angle. The angle of the spout opening causes dripping when pouring water out of the kettle. This seems to happen almost regardless of the angle used to pour the water, and it makes no difference if you wait a couple of minutes after turning off the heat source. Ultimately, the spout should have been bent into an almost S shape, with the opening being vertical instead of almost horizontal (in fact, if it looked like the spout shown in the manual, it probably wouldn't leak).

Reddit & Expert Review Analysis
The Le Creuset Classic Whistling Kettle is celebrated for its aesthetic appeal, with a range of vibrant colors to choose from, and its sturdy handle that features heat-resistant knobs, keeping users safe from burns [2][3][4][5][6]. It's also versatile, working on all stovetops, and is crafted from lightweight carbon steel, which contributes to its efficiency in bringing water to a boil.
However, some users have reported issues with the interior coating flaking off, particularly when used on induction stoves, and the lid can be difficult to remove [1][2]. Despite these concerns, the kettle is praised for its longevity, with some users reporting over 5 years of use with minimal wear [3].
It's also noted for its boiling speed, being one of the quickest stovetop kettles, and its precise pouring due to a well-designed spout [8].
